It feels like Sunday because we've been partying all week!
Sun 3/11: We kicked off the festival performing at Bernadette's and that show was a blast. Co-sponsored by The Austin Gay & Lesbian Alliance and The Gay Place (column in the Chronicle), "Hellloooo Sailor, Are You in Town For A Conference" was a great way to start off the week. Bernadette's is on Airport Blvd, in a nondescript building behind another nondescript building. Finding it takes effort, but so worth it. Bring cash though.

Wed 3/14 (Jendayi turned 14!): Jendayi was Smart Girls At The Party's official correspondant for the day. We started off at a private party in Clarksville where we heard great music, ate fantastic barbecue, and Jendayi interviewed Haroula Rose a singer-songwriter from LA, and Gyasi met They Grey Area as blues-rock duo from DC. We then headed to East Side Tone to catch a quick taping of Schmillion before heading over to the French Legation to hangout with and interview Amy Miles, Zoe Kravitz, and The Citizen's Band.

Fri 3/16: Our biggest day yet. Charlie Belle performed back-to-back. We started out at our favorite venue in Austin, The Whip In. "No one comes out to 11am shows except your parents" but that wasn't true on Friday. A bunch of our friends from school came out early and watched us perform. The Whip In is newly remodeled, and the food is still great. After our set, we ate and got to catch The Rubies from Japan who were one of the best shows we've ever seen! Seriously. After they blew our minds at noon, we raced to the Girls Rock Day Party, and they were running over, so we only got to play 4 songs (bummer). Our last stop was at Zen on Guadalupe where we played our entire set (and an encore) for a group of parents and students from The Griffin School. So tired. Ice cream, pizza, DVD, and bedtime ended the day.

Sun 3/18: Smart Girls At The Party is turning the cameras on us. We'll update about their filming of Charlie Belle's set at Mom's Rock 11am at Happy Salon & Spa. But if you come out, you'll know all about it as it happening!
