Austin City Limits Music Festival (ACL) 2016

Seems a bit strange to say this but we're playing ACL--AGAIN! Yes, again. Waaaaay back in 2012, when the festival was celebrating its 10th anniversary, we played The Kiddie Limits Stage as a 2-piece! The MC predicted that you'd be seeing us on one of the big stages in the future, and, well here we are. We'll be playing Sunday 10/9 at noon on the Tito's Vodka Stage (tent=shade--the good kind) and we're bringing along two friends, Alex Freeman on bass and Ben Dubois on lead guitar. Tix are surprisingly still available for Sun, which has an amazing line-up. We'll see you then, and if you see as hanging out as fans on Fri & Sat, please say "hello".

New Video Premiere

Our newest video "You Don't Know Me" is from the slick remix by Dan Millrood. Billboard featured the single a few weeks ago and now AfroPunk is featuring the video. They dedicated it to "all the femmes who momentarily lost their voices," which is indeed what the song is about. The video, however, symbolizes a momentary loss of creative focus. The concept behind the video came about because of a severe songwriting mental block brought on by having to put all energies into applying to college.

(UPDATE: After 9 college applications, several portfolios, and countless scholarship applications, Belmont Univ in Nashville is where Jendayi will be heading this fall.)

SXSW, Here we come!

This year is our first Official SXSW Showcase (need a badge to get in), but we have plenty on the schedule for the week--mostly free shows. The Austin Chronicle put us on the cover this week and included the band as one of the Picks2Click. They recommend that you come out to see us, and so do we. We'll be at the 30th SXSW Anniversary Party at Maggie Mae's and we're on at 9:20pm. A complete list of where we'll be is on our site.

NEW VIDEO

Our newest video is the title track from our EP "I Don't Want To Be Alone." It was filmed by Justin Wilson Liberal Media Films with assistance from Timothy Phelan. We shot this at our friend's house Katy McMackin and put a call out for anyone who wanted to "hang at the pool, eat pizza, and be in a cool music video." Some of our friends thought it would be cool, and what you have is the result of just that--chillin' by the pool. Considering this was the first video shoot for just about everyone, it was a job well done. Justin knows how to get the shots he needs quickly and deliver a fantastic product. We urge musicians to get in touch with him and try to get on his busy calendar (he's currently filming a Toadies video in Dallas).

We also wanted to thank Katy and her parents for allowing us the use of the house and especially all of our friends who showed up and all of our friends who showed up but who didn't make the final edits. We have no control over what makes it in and what doesn't so we wanted to make sure everyone knows that if we had it our way EVERYONE would get their 15 seconds (it's a video!) of fame.
